Hah!
Just kidding. I'd be so scared he'd try to kill me.
It's a short post today... but,
I finally got to go to Austin with some frands this weekend and I must say... it is so much different than Spring/Houston. In Spring there is really nothing to do expect make the 15 minute trek to The Woodlands or the 30 minute drive to downtown Houston. Austin was alight with life even after 2 in the morning. People scuttled around like drunken ants under the soft lights that littered the streets. It was a different atmosphere which I would not mind visiting again. I'm particularly fond of walking outside at night. I don't know what it is but I love the feeling of the heat, then the breeze, the way the lights cast down on everyone and being able to see all of the different people hold hands and mingle. Something about it...
I went with 3 other girls and we had the great joy of experiencing a power outage in the hotel we were staying at. Apparently the entire grid we were on went out because we could see the hotel to our left was lit up and the restaurant to our right was pitch black. The party was not stopping in our hotel room though. We all pulled our phone flashlights out and continued to do our best whore face make-up while blasting mad techno rap beats. Let's not forgot the pre-gaming which was probably the only reason all of us weren't flipping out and running to the next hotel. Alcohol makes us roll with the punches. Who'da thought?
We went to and stayed at Speakeasy all night. It was awesome. They have a rooftop terrace which has a DJ playing techno/oldies with the breeze hitting you. Downstairs was a live band called the Space Rockers.
I would have totally married each and every one of those dudes in the band. They were so funny and they definitely put on a show.. it was pretty friggin' epic. My friend and I were out on the dance floor making fools of ourselves... ok... I was making a fool of myself because I have no rhythm, she looked like a back up dancer for a Shakira video.
Once they started to cover Swing-by Savage it was OVER. We were doing the dice move because... that's really all we had. If you don't know what movie I'm referring to, it's Knocked Up. Go watch it. Now. The band then decided to cover It's Tricky- by Run D.M.C and we automatically looked to one another and flashed back to the movie White Chicks doing this ...
Yeah... We locked legs went around in a circle then died laughing because we're fucking idiots.
Judgment is expected.
The bartender was amazingly handsome... tattoos... shaved head... bad-boy look to boot. The fact that he bought us shots and took one with us wasn't too bad either.
Us: "Oh. That was delicious. What's that shot called?"
Him: "Sex with the bartender."
Me Gusta |
And the bartender.
Anyways! We had a good time. Shit was fun and I definitely want to go back rightnowyesplease. I'm seeing myself making frequent trips to Austin for years to come. It was definitely a great Labor Day weekend for me.
